80 songs chosen for Soca Monarch quarterfinals

Eighty songs have made it to the quarterfinals of the National Groovy and Power Soca Monarch competition for Lucian Carnival. Starting May 11, artists from all over Saint Lucia submitted their songs, hoping for a chance to perform on the main stage at the Groovy and Power Soca Monarch events.

The deadline for submissions was May 28.

A panel of judges reviewed the entries on Saturday, May 30 and Sunday, May 31, 2026. They picked the top 40 songs in both the Groovy and Power Soca categories to advance to the next round, the live auditions or quarterfinals.
