La Clery, Gros Islet, Vieux Fort South and Soufriere have all reached the semifinals of the 2026 Blackheart / Saint Lucia Football Association Inc (SLFA) Knockout Football Tournament. The quarterfinals, held at Soufriere Stadium over the weekend, saw the top Under-20 men’s teams from the north and south face off against the best from the east and west.
Soufriere, winners of the SLFA Under-20 Men’s Zonal Tournament, moved smoothly into the semifinals of the island’s longest-running knockout competition. They came from behind to beat Canaries 3-1 in a west coast derby.
Zyhym Jn Charles scored for Canaries in the 24th minute, giving them a 1-0 lead at halftime. Rishawn Prospere equalised for Sulphur City in the 55th minute. Eymani Butcher and Cassian Joseph then scored in the final two minutes to secure the win.
Vieux Fort South edged out South Castries 1-0 with a goal from Y Francis in the 74th minute. Top-seeded La Clery drew 0-0 with Mabouya Valley but moved on to the next round after winning 5-4 on penalties.
Gros Islet have been one of the classiest teams on show, winning the Northern Zone and routing Laborie in the Blackheart tournament Round of 16 last weekend. Seeded fourth overall, Gros Islet led 1-0 over Dennery at the interval, thanks to a 21st-minute marker from Rickelme Lionel. Thierry Morille made it 2-0 in the 52nd, and although Dervontae Agyemang halved the deficit in the 62nd minute for Dennery, Joshua George restored the two-goal cushion in the seventh minute of injury time.
