Reginald Antoine, known on stage as Unpredictable, won the 2026 Chanté Kwéyòl competition with his song “Mwen ni an Wév” at Serenity Park on Saturday.
It was his first win in the competition and his second time participating, having made his debut last year.
Wulstan Alfred, popularly known as Walleigh, placed second with “Baguy-la”, while Gregory Sinaise took third place with “Demi Touni”.
The competition, held as part of Saint Lucia’s Creole Heritage Month celebrations, provides a platform for artistes to showcase their musical talent through performances in Saint Lucian Kwéyòl.
Launched in 2012 by Gordon Charlemagne Leon as a Kwéyòl calypso competition, Chanté Kwéyòl has continued for 14 years as part of the island’s annual cultural celebrations.
Saturday’s event also featured performances by Slot, Sexy Blue, KCey, Migz, Senator, Ckay, Kamau Regional, Alley Cat, Papi Joe, Afwéchi, J Movay, Sherlan, Black Pearl, General Butch, Lil IN!GO and Honourable.
