Teenager Zaheid St Ville died from strangulation; man charged

Noah Nurse appeared before the First District Court for a bail hearing on Wednesday, November 4, and was remanded to the Bordelais Correctional Facility until December 1, 2026.

In a press release, the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force (RSLPF) said St Ville’s family identified his remains during a post-mortem examination conducted on Monday.

“The post-mortem determined the cause of death to be cerebral hypoxia secondary to asphyxia resulting from manual strangulation,” the RSLPF release stated. “DNA testing will also be conducted to provide further support for the identification.”

St Ville’s remains were recovered from a shallow grave on Saturday, October 31, around 8:22 a.m., while authorities were searching for him. He had been reported missing to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) on October 22 after last being seen on October 16.

Officers had responded to a report of what appeared to be a burial site. Excavation of the area led to the recovery of the remains.

Police say investigations into the circumstances surrounding St Ville’s murder are ongoing.
