Saint Lucians in Windward Squad Following Under-15 Win

Four Saint Lucians have been named to the Windward Islands squad on the heels of the home team playing unbeaten in the 2024 WINLOTT Windward Islands Under-15 Tournament at the weekend.

Saint Lucia’s captain, top-order batsman, bowler, and wicketkeeper Jeanille Williams is included in the Windwards team, along with fast bowler Kaleb Charles, all-rounder Daniel Lorde, and hard-hitting batter Kyle Stephen. Trevern Edward is in the reserves.

Saint Lucia had survived a scare against Dominica on Sunday at the Gros Islet Playing Field to end the Under-15 competition unbeaten.

Saint Lucia has won the tournament eight times since 2013, losing only to Grenada in 2018, and Dominica in 2023.

Bowled out for just 115, Saint Lucia appeared set to relinquish the title once again. Dominica were in a fairly solid position at 97-6. But vice-captain Jean Claude Emmanuel precipitated a tail-end collapse, and Dominica lost three quick wickets.

Although the visitors got a couple of big sixes towards the end, they eventually lost their final wicket on 110. Charles, with a top score of 31 for Saint Lucia, as well as a five-wicket haul, led the way to victory for yet another year.
