Charity to Offer Free Hand Surgeries for Saint Lucians

Hand Help Inc., a globally recognised charitable organisation dedicated to providing free hand surgery care, will be offering free hand surgeries for children and adults in Saint Lucia from April 6 to 13, the Ministry of Health, Wellness, and Elderly Affairs has announced.

The initiative is part of the organisation’s ongoing collaborative mission with the ministry to restore mobility and improve the quality of life for individuals affected by various hand conditions.

For over 25 years, Hand Help Inc. has been at the forefront of providing specialised surgical care to those in need worldwide. This year, Saint Lucia has been selected as a beneficiary, allowing residents with soft tissue and bone injuries, congenital anomalies, nerve palsies, burns, and elective hand conditions such as carpal tunnel syndrome, trigger finger, and carpometacarpal arthritis to receive expert surgical intervention at no cost.

Interested individuals are encouraged to visit their nearest wellness centre, polyclinic, or community hospital for pre-screening and registration up to March 31.

Additionally, outpatient clinic evaluations will be available at:

  • OKEU Hospital: 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. on Thursday, March 13, 2025.
  • St Jude Hospital Orthopaedic Outpatient Clinic: 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Thursday, March 20, 2025.

Residents are encouraged to take advantage of this life-changing opportunity by registering within the stipulated timeframe to ensure they receive the necessary medical evaluation and surgical intervention.

Hand Help Inc. has demonstrated unwavering dedication to ensuring that individuals suffering from debilitating hand conditions can regain mobility, function, and independence. This initiative is made possible through the generosity of medical professionals, donors, and volunteers who continuously support the organisation’s mission.
