DeAndre Calderon topped his group in the singles portion of the men’s competition at the 2025 Caribbean Regional Table Tennis Championships in Barbados on Friday. Manie Eleuthere also qualified for Saturday’s Round of 32 at the Sir Garfield Sobers Sports Complex.

On Thursday, Calderon defeated Jamaica’s Kane Watson 3-0 (11-3, 1-8, 11-3) and Dominican Republic’s Abit Tejada 3-1 (9-11, 11-5, 11-4, 11-5) in Group 13. He swept the group with a 3-0 (11-7, 11-1, 11-8) victory over Barbados’ Mikail Mark. The Saint Lucian champion will face another hometown player, Antonio Hamilton, from 5:30 p.m. on Table 2. The winner will meet Jorge Campos of the Dominican Republic in the Round of 16 on Sunday.

Eleuthere will also play a Barbadian on Saturday, as he takes on Tyrese Knight from 4:45 p.m. on Table 4. Eleuthere was second in Group 6. The youngster was undone by Cuba’s Livan Martrinez 3-1 (11-2, 6-11, 11-6, 11-10) on Thursday, but prevailed over Barbados’ Chad Doughty 3-0 (12-10, 11-4, 11-9).

Dawitt Nurse ended third in Group 12, winning one match and losing two. He started off by overcoming Jelani Cumberbatch of St Vincent & the Grenadines 3-0 (11-9, 11-8, 11-7) on Thursday. He also lost to Paulton Madden of Jamaica 3-1 (11-3, 6-11, 11-5, 13-11). On Friday, he fell to Barbados’ Hamilton 3-0 (11-5, 11-4, 11-7).

Saint Lucia lost to Trinidad & Tobago on Wednesday in the quarterfinals of the men’s team competition. Calderon topped Derron Douglas 3-0 (10-12, 11-5, 11-7, 11-8), but Eleuthere went down to Aaron Wilson 0-3 (6-11, 7-11, 4-11), and Lubin was stopped by Yuvraaj Dookram 0-3 (9-11, 6-11, 2-11).
