New culinary and gathering space founded by hospitality veteran Mario Sabga-Aboud celebrates Lebanese roots and Caribbean connection
AH’LEN, a deeply personal new culinary and gathering space celebrating Lebanese heritage and Caribbean fusion, has officially celebrated its opening in Rodney Bay.
Founded by veteran hospitality entrepreneur Mario Sabga-Aboud, the new establishment represents a meaningful tribute to tradition, family, and community connection.
Derived from the traditional Arabic greeting meaning “Welcome” and “Come in”, AH’LEN is designed to serve as an extension of the family home. The concept blends Sabga-Aboud’s Lebanese roots with his family’s journey through Trinidad and Tobago and Saint Lucia, where he has spent the last 18 years building vibrant gathering spaces as part of a 35-year legacy in the hospitality industry.
“To see everyone gathered here is the realisation of a dream I’ve carried for a very long time,” said Sabga-Aboud during the opening ceremony. “Like so many Middle Eastern families in the Caribbean, we quickly learned that food is the glue that binds people together. Bringing AH’LEN to Rodney Bay is our way of giving back to a community that has given us so much.”
AH’LEN centres its philosophy on the cultural tradition that a meal is a sacred experience. The venue places equal emphasis on culinary craftsmanship and the stories, laughter, and human connections forged over breaking bread. The space is intentionally built to welcome both local residents and international visitors with open arms into a warm, familial atmosphere.
“In our culture, a meal is never just about the food on the plate,” Sabga-Aboud added. “We built this space so that everyone – whether you live down the street or are visiting from afar – feels like you are stepping into our family home. Thank you for honouring us with your presence.”
AH’LEN is now officially open to the public, and is inviting guests to gather, celebrate and become part of its extended family.
