Pierre: “I Do Not Intend To Outlive My Usefulness!”

Prime Minister Philip J. Pierre has indicated that he does not intend to outlive his usefulness and become a burden to his ruling Saint Lucia Labour Party (SLP), his Castries East Constituency, or the country.

He was addressing his constituency group’s 34th annual general meeting on Saturday.

Pierre urged his audience to keep their eyes on the prize.

“Once you keep your eyes on the prize, whether I am here or not, you are going to be victorious,” the Castries East MP asserted.

Declaring that politics is a “very strange thing,” Pierre explained that everyone has a life span.

“And I do not intend to outlive my usefulness. I do not intend to become a burden to the party or a burden to the constituency, or a burden to the people of Saint Lucia. I know when my expiry time will come,” he stated.

“It must come. It has to come. But when it comes, it will come with grace. When it comes, it will come with dignity. Because I am sure that there are men and women in Castries East who can represent Castries East in a very proficient way and there are men and women in the labour party who can lead the labour party when the time comes,” Pierre said to applause.

In this regard, he declared that because of the confidence in those men and women and the young people of Saint Lucia, he could say that the SLP has a promising future.

  1. Me Pierre, you have out used you usefulness and you’re not using and manifesting your uselessness.

  2. I respect our pm but I’ll always criticize you when you do wrong.
You cannot give a real speech without changing your tone like a child or trying to make the people of Saint Lucia look like complete fools.
You always have to mimic someone, mention the uwp or as I said, MAKE US LOOK LIKE FOOLS.

Hot sun for months, the minute we get rain that’s when you want to say “how I suppose to fix roads when it raining?” Are you serious?

Give us a proper speech “we are currently working on fixing the situation with the roads, best news assured once we get a proper weather update it shall start right away” everything for you is like a joke and it pisses me off because I believe you deserve a chance but please work on yourself.

Every thing is uwp or the people looking like momos, start starting accountability

  3. Lolz Pierre stop crying…….its not even 2 years yet and you talking about your retirement plan ? AA ebeh look it.

  4. Common Mr Pierre I for once knew that you were on yr verge out hence why you wanted or needed to go at the highest level. You have gotten there and am one who will be suprise if you decide to contest the seat in the next 4 years. When I knew and listen to the Mr Pierre I knew 20 years ago I liked and respected him for he sounded like a sincere, caring and down to earth person but now you are someone that I do not recognize with those virtues. I expected you to exit with honours for who I or we thought you were. It is testimony for me that power changes ppl. You do not even have it in you to listen but quick to believe they say and judge instead of listening. You do not care about our lower class ppl in stlucia. Yes indeed you have served stlucia, as for the slp being I n good hand I sure don’t see that as long as the members that make up that party continues to be greedy, arrogant and think that they are even above God. When u all are in opposition you come begging, calling ppl to help and put u all back in power. When u get in office to busy to respond to calls or messages, you forgot those who help put you there. Anyway may God bless u and u decide to change before you make yr exit. It is never to late
    Peace and love

  8. My Labour boys like George Charles, George Odlum; the others like Compton & Chastanet never spoke such nonsense.
On the ‘Prize’ – which prize? yours or S. King’s – your usefulness, then build the more modern Hospital in V/Fort- or is that an indication that some forces are forcing you out, in favour of the Deputy (that comes with lots of $) just in case. Go for it, man.
Before you go, make sure a worse fit is the Queen. Take care – be Blessed.

  9. Mr PM, you may not intend to outlive your usefulness but you have surely outlived your uselessness.

  10. Who feels it no’s it I have been watching the price from seen when you came in, just can’t afford just can’t afford very hard man something I would never do security job have to send the children to school can’t leave them in the house hoping change will come it’s had everywhere god and pray

  11. With all due respect sir, you are fooling no one. We all know that he liar was too tainted so you were picked to lead the party into the election. You have outlived your usefulness… you’re just a place holder for now until your party deem the mood right to deceptively drop ti joofali on us! You’ve proven you’re a sellout so I guess the price will be exorbitant for you to exit stage left and make way for the range fella. I for one don’t care about your whining…the very people who gathered behind closed doors to plot your removal in favor of a JF are the ones you have in high places… know your circle… the ones you rejected are the ones who have your back but you are too blind to see it. Carry on sir…best of luck to you

  12. Behold, a Party of sell outs; started with Jufali, then the Queen then dark money from the Baron, crazy stuff from the killer let loose from Barboneau, illegal items from Venezuela while the U. S. is watching. After that Hurricane, not a Dime from up North and stupid pride of talking of Republicanism, the U.K. is waiting for this stupidity. The real Queen is dead and Charlie boy has other worries on his mind. These are not normal times; the war machines are warming up – in the Orient and in Eastern Europe. Mass shortages of Oil & Gas, Food & Medicine – cost of everything will be sky high – pray for weather protection from on high before its too late. Believe me, your only hope is with the good Lord above. Amen

  13. You started to outlive your usefulness Sir, when you began saying things like “Look at UWP supporters and say to their face, you lose” Being gracious and humble in defeat and even more so in victory is the mark of a true leader. Inflammatory rhetoric like this from a sitting PM encourages discord. We should be building and not destroying. Everytime I hear of another murder in my beautiful SLU, I cringe as rhetoric such as this from our leaders to “Protect victories” only serves to exacerbate an already volatile St Lucia. Do better Sir, and ask better of your cabinet colleagues. Lead by example and usher in a new brand of politics. I am rooting for you!

  14. Sadly, things globally will get very tough; word has gone to Oil Producers to cut on production; with that done, it will affect cost of every item, from the gas pump, the Super Market, transport etc. worse yet if all out war starts in Eastern Europe, and an annoying head each in the Orient. One may ask, how is that affecting us? it will in jobs, Medicines, Food imports, Tourism, hence the reason Government should concentrate on local agriculture, and Fisheries. Think also on the Hurricane season – see what happened in Florida – sorry for the bad news, but a better News is ‘ Build the Brand New Hospital in V/FORT’ & may God Bless you. Amen.

  16. Dear Sir…why was an entourage gone to Miami to promote Carnival for 2023 and our coffers have no money whilst our health care is in shambles???
