Eight individuals sustained injuries after a truck lost control and crashed on Thursday on the Barre de L’ Isle road.

Saint Lucia Fire Service (SLFS) Communications Officer Stacy Joseph said emergency personnel received a call for assistance at about 10:21 am.

Responders from the SLFS Headquarters in Castries and the Babonneau, Dennery, and Micoud fire stations rushed to the scene.

Personnel from fire service headquarters transported six victims to the OKEU Hospital, while Micoud fire station responders transported two to the Dennery Hospital.

The SLFS Communications Officer said the victims who were travelling in the truck tray at the time of the accident were not in critical condition.
