Big Players, Nyah FC Play To A Draw In SLFA Competition

Matches continued in the SLFA’s Inc. President Cup on Saturday 29th April 2023.

Over at the Dennery Playing Field, and in what turned out to be a thrilling contest Nyah FC and Big Players played to a 1 – 1 draw.

Levi Mederick thought he had it sewn up for NYAH only for Big Players to come roaring back via the boots of Oneil Alexander in the 90th min.

In the final game played at the venue, Garrand FC whipped Agardianz 6 – 1, with Rick David scoring a beaver trick and Kurby Felix a brace.

Down at the Desruisseaux Playing Field and in front of their home supporters Desruisseaux United went down to Uprising 4 – 0.

Sherquain Matty scored a brace for Uprising in the 21st and 51st min while Keiran Joseph and Nyhim Avril scored the others in the 54th and 88th min respectively.

In the other game played Faith had a comfortable 3- 1 victory over DCYO

Scoring for Faith were Johnel Romulus 3rd, Tyan Burt 10th, and Zardel Du Sauzay in the 3rd min of added on time, while Kesley Jn. Baptiste in the 4th min of added on time in the first half did the honours for DCYO.

In the meantime matches continues in the said competition on Tuesday 2nd May.

Over at the Dennery Playing Field, Big Players take on Aux Lyon United at 6.0 pm while at 8.00 pm NYAH FC plays City Foundation

Down at the Desruisseaux Playing Field, in the first of a double header, Desruisseaux United comes up against Black Eagles at 6.00 pm to be followed by Uprising against Shambala Shiloh at 8.00 pm.

Meanwhile, congratulations to St. Lucian International wingback Shanoi Evans on making the Jamaica Premier League team of the week 24. He was impressive in Arnett Gardens 2-nil win over Faulkand FC. His team remains on the top of the league.

Elsewhere, five matches were played in the Bordelais Correctional Facility Safe Space Futsal competition at the Richfond Playing Field on Sunday 30th April.

In the first encounter, Dennery defeated Prospere FC of the Bordelais Correctional Facility 9 – 2, with goals from Saqlain Regis 4, Nico Jnr. 2 and 1 each from Lervon St. Martin, Moll Stios and Ali Edward.

Scoring for Prospere FC were Vixian Dauvernge and Allius Brin.

Playing the second game, Burin FC of Bordelais Correctional Facility, with goals from Rohan Lammy 2 and Akin Louisy edged out La Pansee 3 – 2 whose goal scorers were Nicholas Giraudy and Brendon Auguste.

The afternoon session commenced with two female encounters. In the first, Mabouya Valley with a brace from Annia Vitalis drew with Marchand Boulevarde 2 – 2, with their goal scorers being Kertam Ramsey and Judy Octave.

In the other encounter, Marchand with a hat trick from Frannie Wilkie and the others from Mellissa Price and Aline St. Ange got the better of Back on Track 5 – 1, whose lone scorer was Kayla Joseph.

Bringing the curtains down on the day’s proceedings was an exciting male encounter between Trois Piton and Faith United, which ended in a 2 – 2 draw.

Scoring for Faith United were Mineky Nicholas and Leeboy John, while Oneil Remy and Ronaldo Joseph scored for Trois Pitons. 

Matches continued in the Laborie Football League Senior Male football competition over the weekend at the Augier Playing Field.

On Saturday 29th April. County Strikers with a beaver trick  from Kelvin Alexander 19th, 29th, 52nd and 61st min defeated  Herbalist 4 – 1 whose goal was scored by Trace Simeon in the 3rd min.

In another game played on Sunday 30th April, Pascal with a brace from Krishdan Joyeaux and the others from Kendal Yarde and Tristian Ettiene was also victorious 4 – 1 over Connections 4 – 1, with Melvin Francis scoring the lone goal.
