Opposition leader Allen Chastanet has extended condolences after the death of ‘esteemed’ former Agriculture Minister and Parliamentary Representative for Anse La Raye-Canaries, Ira D’Auvergne.

Writing on Facebook, Chastanet said the immeasurable contributions D’Auvergne made to the agricultural sector will forever remain an indelible mark of his legacy.

“His unwavering dedication to improving the livelihoods of farmers and promoting sustainable practices will continue to inspire future generations,” the former Prime Minister observed.

According to Chastanet, D’Auvergne was widely known for his compassionate and benevolent nature and exceptional professional achievements.

He recalled that the former Minister was a mentor, confidant, and dear friend to numerous individuals, always extending a helping hand and providing invaluable guidance.

” His genuine care for others and unwavering commitment to public service exemplified his extraordinary character,” Chastanet stated.

  1. We have a situation where over 80 percent of private sector workers earn 2 to 5 EC dollars an hour, living in poverty . Where agricultural is just selling our produce by the road side …

  2. Absolutely despicable; this is the news of so many of Ira’s friends to find out that he has passed, and this idiot who comes on as Freemason talks his usual boring subject of $ & C. I wish someone could stick a loaf down his throat just to put some sense in his head.
Ira was a good friend of mine, I remember him well dancing at one of our W.I. dances, telling his dance partner, ‘come down’ while he wind his way down to the floor, never was that taught at Law School, but Ira was a fun guy wherever he went.
Good passage to the new Kingdom my friend, hope you’ll be shinning bright when I arrive.
