Due to a ‘well-defined’ tropical wave, the Saint Lucia Meteorological Services has forecast heavy showers to affect Saint Lucia Monday and Tuesday.
As a result, Director Andre Joyeux has urged residents in low-lying areas to take the necessary precautions.
“You’ll get violent downbursts, so you’ll get a lot of rain in a short period which can cause flash flooding – about an inch of rainfall in less than an hour,” Joyeux told St. Lucia Times.
The Met Office also expected scattered showers and gusty winds.
“Heavy showers are expected tonight into tomorrow,” Joyeux told St. Lucia Times.
In addition, Saint Luciacontinues to monitor another tropical wave in the mid-Atlantic.
