Police have arrested three suspects regarding Monday morning’s daring break-in at the La Fargue, Choiseul outlet of Massy Stores Supermarket.

According to reports, bandits in a Suzuki Escudo smashed their way into the supermarket by reversing the vehicle into the commercial enterprise after unsuccessfully trying to get in.

They had earlier held up a security guard who was reported to be unharmed.

Once inside the supermarket, the bandits helped themselves to several items, tied a rope to the Bank of Saint Lucia ATM, and dislodged it after several attempts before escaping.

Law enforcement officials held the three suspects in Soufriere after 3:00 a.m.

But sources disclosed that the three men the police arrested were in a Suzuki Swift at the time.

Police discovered the Suzuki Escudo that had earlier reversed into the supermarket over a precipice at Victoria, Choiseul.

Investigations are continuing.

  1. a a boy it crucial these bandits are now fearless wee. so they must have put up an old vehicle to do the crime and dump it because volier have a whole atm machine so next ride will buy. smh smh what is it these guys will not do. we need to have real investigating officers in st Lucia we lack that

  2. I’m conflicted on this one. Yea these guys should be imprisoned as I don’t condone theft. But they broke into Massy for God’s sake. Massy holding us at gunpoint and robbing us blind. No different from what these guys did to them. And the ATM belongs to be bank. Need I say more?

  3. People who are rejoicing over massey loss please think again. Massey has insurance and will likely claim for more than what was taken.
    More profit to Massey.

The police did a great job so stop knocking their skills.

  4. Them man want man to work for them as watchman for 2:50 cent an hour and you have to work 12 to 18 hour shifts people who are doing that kind of risky work are just doing that because that is all st lucia has after you are working 18 hours for them man if they came and find you sleeping on the job they even disrespecting you and make you feel like you are nothing

  5. Very good police arrest them .On the other side Massy makes Millions of Dollars profit per day and Refuse to invest in Mordern Technology to protect their Business. The Insurance will pay Millions of Dollars in Compensation to Massy .So its a plus for Massy

  6. The bandits did to Massy exactly what Massy does to us. Thieves alike. Shedding no tears for massy for he who feels it knows it.

  7. @rude . a man drowned in a pool of water right next to where he was attending a party in the north. the investigators was v fort looking for him. you call that skills. man shake up

  8. you taking about skills who say the guys they hold are guilty. its massy so they must hold people to show they working on it.

  9. One down 99 more to go
I have said it before and saying it again the police needs to start thinking like the criminals in other to win the this criminal game and new laws need to be pass so those whose cover and aid the criminals needs to be held accountable and charge that’s called guilty by association or aiding and abetting also those charge with violent crimes should be denied the right to register to vote and a passport’ holder unless been pardon by the governor general so you live the state to go elsewhere to start a new life of crime giving st lucian people a bad rap overseas you stay right here and pay for your sins
although some people will know you by your name when you get arrested but most people wouldnt know who so the authorities needs to start posting everyone pictures so everyone can see once you are being charge with a crime now guilty or not that’s another story by its self but charged with a violent crime the public has to right to know who you are so the know they have to feed you with a very long spoon to be on the safe side

  10. Massy , I am surprised Lucians are rejoicing over your loss. Don’t you think something is wrong? Check what is happening. By the way many of the staff would like to join a union, why are you all doing just the same as sandals? Somebody look into this.

  11. Still waiting to hear about arrests for the container of drugs found up in Gros islet. Then the guns found in the fridge. And the recent container found in Gros islet yet again.

  12. Those who are rejoicing are absolute fools. Don’t they realize the loss of the retailer is passed on to the consumer, which means prices will climb not decline. That’s how it works. The greater the demand the higher the prices, except if the government intervenes.

  13. It just amazing how quickly the police made an arrest after this break-in, same thing after Mega J was broken into. People’s houses are getting broken into everyday and not one arrest. You don’t even get a call from the investigating officer to tell you if anything is happening. Makes one wonder!

  14. Massy’s will simply pass on the costs of the loss to the customers. That’s a regular move by businesses. I am not sure why some people find the incident hilarious since they might be paying more. Typical kindergarten trend of thinking. By the way, if Massy’s is not available to ripoff, crooks will get another target. After all, they are crooks.

  15. May God’s favor rest on us and his Amazing Grace be bestowed upon us πŸ‡±πŸ‡¨ St Lucians
Though the race is not to the Swift or the battle too Strong, but,a good king can gives a country its stability ❗
The wages they have failed to pay the workers who have hoarded wealth :
    Look ❗
This too is meaningless and a great misfortune.
What does a man get for all the toil and anxious striving with which he labors under the 🌞 sun ?
All his days his work is pain and grief πŸ’œ;even at night his mind does not rest. This too is meaningless !
A man can do nothing better than to eat and drink and find satisfaction in his work…
This too,I see,is it from the hand of God, for without him, who can eat or find enyoyment ❓
To the man who pleases him, God gives wisdom, knowledge and Happiness, but to the one who refuse to pay the workers a fair salary wage :
God gives a heavy task of gathering and storing up wealth to hand it over to the one who pleases God…
This too is meaningless, a chasing after the wind ❗

  16. Some Lucians are condoning the criminals robbery of Massy and it is sad. Every business is in business to make a profit. In areas where thefts are high, very often items are priced higher. In the end the customer will be at a lost every time.

In addition, 1/2 a loaf is better than none and had it not been for Massy some Lucians would be unemployed. Let us be honest – the criminal malveetayes in St. Lucia do not want to work a legitimate job regardless as to how much it paid on hour. Condoning their criminal activity because it’s Massy or anyone else is very disheartening .. WRONG IS WRONG – your home may be next
