Saint Lucia Customs & Excise Department Cracking Down On Illegal Alcohol Sales

The Saint Lucia Customs & Excise Department has announced a crackdown on illegal alcohol sales, advising holders of expired licenses to renew immediately.

A September 27, 2023, Department notice disclosed a compliance drive to enforce the Liquor License Act Cap—13:17 of the laws of Saint Lucia.

According to the Act, anyone selling intoxicating liquor must have the relevant license.

Transgressors are liable to prosecution.

In addition, they face seizure of the liquor on their premises.

The Customs & Excise Department has invited anyone needing further information to contact the Export Verification- Liquor License Unit in Castries at 468-4800/71 or the First or Second District Court.
