  1. And the sad thing is that while these murders are going on our two political parties and their supporters are there playing with our lives…. One have a show Chastenet, Chastenet, the other have an Impacs round table, like y’all were not in power two years ago.

And meanwhile the country burns down while the politicians and their surrogates remain oblivious– Fighting over frivolous things such as which show had the most viewers while our people are being killed innocently…

  2. Dats my electricity teacher at Secondary school you kill so, Ohms rest in peace. For the murderer, fire and Brimstone for you

  3. It does not feel right in St.Lucia. If it does not feel right it means something is definitely wrong. Prior to this latest homocide, the excuse was the criminals were wiping each other. The latest two victims seemed to be decent individuals who lived in the community. We’re they criminals who were wiped out by other criminals – this cannot be right. Lucian’s are so used to see and hear others being slaughtered like animals that they do not even react anymore. They just consider it to be a normal and minor incident which does not require to be on the news – wow. This cannot be right. We need to join forces and become part of the solution. Something is fundamentally wrong in this society. First we must acknowledge the problem and then find ways and means to find a solution. We as a nation cannot pretend that’s isn’t a problem. The problem exist and we cannot wait for this to hit home for us – let us start now – right now.

  4. TWO MORE MEN THAT WILL NOT SEE THEIR FAMILIES AGAIN. GUYS STOP THE KILLING. THE PM SAID PRACTICE PEACE AND SOLIDARITY TAKE HEED, WALK AWAY TO LIVE ANOTHER DAY.

  5. You can’t have your cake and eat it. If you are going to prosecute police for protecting citizens and taking back the streets, then how can you expect police to interfere in fueds? Where in the Holy Bible do repeat murderers have rights? Doesn’t the Koran teach ” kill the infidel”?

  6. Disgusted Youth please tell me how do you think UWP & SLP can reduce or eliminate these gang or retaliation killings.
Please this is a very honest question.

  7. Since 1997, our country has faced serious challenges under the SLP leadership. In 1996, the homicide rate was just around 8 per year, but by 2002, it had surged to 40 per year, a staggering 400% increase. The Debt to GDP Ratio also skyrocketed during this time, with little benefit to the country. The SLP government has been in power for 4 out of the last 6 terms and shares responsibility for these issues due to their failed policies. You can verify these facts with a quick online search for “macrotrends Saint Lucia murder rate chart.” It’s time to get informed and take action. Let’s rally and urge our government representatives to do better, embracing proven strategies that can steer us toward a brighter future.

  8. Re Article and comments..I am not surprised with the crime rate, When we don’t take care of our children that is the result of neglect=Mayhem.. Fact..
The police hands are tied with political snake -Oil salesmen.. They care, only for their Families and fool the weakest Links with Alcohol beverage and dance into a trance of stupidity
I think that our xpats should establish a political party in St Lucia.. Our current parties have no focused or vision of taking care of St Lucia..
They should have left the two shooters destroy their own selves..
I endorse my thoughts and observations

  9. This sounds irresponsible and insensitive but it is time we stop reporting and commenting on these foolish shootings. They need to stop acting foolish. God bless St.Lucia!

  11. “Rude” asked a question and I want to answer.
    1. Govt is suppose to protect it’s citizens
    2. Govt is suppose to ensure our borders are sealed – If they were, we wouldn;t hv guns
    3. Govt is suppose to hv an Education System which educates young ppl on better choices
    4. Govt receives tax payers money to ensure that citizens and their kids are safe
    5. Govt is suppose to hv laws that deter persons away from crime
    6. Govt is suppose to spearhead social and sporting culture to direct youths into a positive life style
I can go on and on. If those 2 parties didn’t believe it was their responsibility the topic of crime would nvr be mentioned in their manifesto, nor would there be a ministry of national security, nor would foreogn govts agree to train our local police, nor would they hv a polic force, they would also hv not built police stations and Bordelaise and maintain the bldgs. It’s becasue they UWP and SLP know their tole and responsibility when it comes to peace and protecting the citizens is why they hv a budget and campaign on the basis of Reduction in Crime. IF THERE WERE ZERO SHOOTINGS THIS YR. THE GOVT WOULD ALWAYS BE BOASTING IT AS A SUCCESS STORY FOR THEM. Sooooo.. Until we hold them accounatble and understand that we the citizenry CANNOT solve the problem without govt intervention and allow them to be non caring as they are right now th eproblem will persist. LASTLY DON’T U RELAISE A BUNCH OF PAST POLITICIANS WERE TASKED WITH GOING TO HAITI TO LOOK AT SOLVING THE CRIME PROBLEM THERE.

  12. @WOW … you hit the nail on the head.
After all, ministries, departments and offices are put in place to “serve and protect” the populace, as well as to educate, to be healthy and wise.
SLU’s state of affairs should never have sunk so low – because “they” are not paying attention.

  13. Since 1997, our country has faced serious challenges under the SLP leadership. 14. @WOW. Sorry, you are not going to make headway trying to educate people, who don’t want to learn. The place is a petri dish for ignorance. The majority of the population think that politicians are demigods. It’s hard convincing people that politicians work for the taxpayers. Employed by taxpayers. Politicians can be hired and fired by taxpayers at the ballot booth. What has happened over many years, an attitude of dependency has crept in. Politicians have been handing out little foodstuffs and trinkets so people began thinking that this is real way government functions.
The government is responsible for the security of the population. Period. Frequently you see postings stating that government is not responsible. It’s the typical response from fanatics and people who don’t understand civics. Pierre is presently responsible for the carnage. His poor policies, stemming from his ignorance of security matters, will take us to the highest death count.

  15. Poule foo, IS and WOW while I agree that government has a major role to ay in fighting crime, the question was about the UWP AND SLP.
If people refuse report crime, the witnesses are blind, the police are to lazy to investigate, the DPP is sleeping , the court system is on autopilot, families and friends are facilitators , we are presently living in a society where we have absolutely no love and respect for others and life and the list goes on and on.
Before we brand each other as illiterate we must first ask our self if we would report a shooting we happen to witnesses to the police.

  16. Kenny Anthony let our people go I’m hurting lord hear my cry 😢 or lord help me please pa pa i don’t know what to do the people of vieux fort is scared they can’t talk..my 89 year grandma can’t no longer sit in her balcony..pa pa I’m broken..st lucia is paying for something my vieux fort people put down the guns..parents talk to your children I don’t have tears anymore.

  17. I have seen a lot. Never see another person sign their own death certificate going to the police with information you are doing just that?

  18. What have these well experienced and seasoned representatives KDA and PJP done for the country, 26 years representing the the warzones in the north and south. 26 YEARS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
