Routine surveillance has noted a surge in individuals presenting with flu-like symptoms in Saint Lucia with children being among those affected.
The Ministry of Health disclosed that the increase has occurred in visits to the emergency departments and hospital admissions, particularly in children under five years old.
Medical Surveillance Officer Lorna Wilson spoke about the situation in a statement on the Ministry’s behalf.
