A taxi driver escaped unhurt after a fire in his vehicle’s engine compartment on Thursday in Soufriere.
The Soufriere fire station responded after learning of the incident at about 9:30 am.
The driver was the sole occupant of the vehicle.
According to reports, he saw smoke emanating from the engine compartment and pulled over at Stonefield View Point.
Firefighters who rushed to the scene extinguished the fire.
