A Suzuki Swift caught fire after running off the road at River Doree, Choiseul, resulting in injuries to its four occupants.

Emergency responders from the Vieux Fort Fire Station responded with a fire appliance and an ambulance after receiving a call for help at about 2:40 pm on Wednesday.

The responders transported the two adults and two adolescents who appeared to have sustained non-life-threatening injuries to the hospital.

The Choiseul incident was the latest in a spate of road accidents in Saint Lucia.

So far, in 2024, road accidents have claimed six lives.
