A female pedestrian sustained injuries when a vehicle struck her in Gros Islet on Tuesday.
The incident occurred on St. George Street.
After learning of the collision, the Gros Islet Fire Station dispatched an emergency crew at about 5:12 pm.
However, on arrival, the emergency responders heard that the victim, believed to be in her forties, had already been conveyed to a medical facility.
The circumstances surrounding the collision were not immediately apparent.
It was the latest in a spate of recent road incidents the country has been experiencing.
A female pedestrian sustained injuries when a vehicle hit her on Clarke Street, Vieux Fort, last week.
After the incident, the 21-year-old victim complained of pain in her lower extremities.
However, the injuries were deemed to be non-life-threatening.
So far, in 2024, six people have died as a result of road incidents, despite appeals from the authorities for road users to exercise caution.

How many is this for the year now ? There is little traffic enforcement so it will continue happening.
Reposting a portion of the article with a question —
“After the incident, the 21-year-old victim complained of pain in her lower extremities.”
“However, the injuries were deemed to be non-life-threatening.”
Was the victim given an x-ray/mri/scan????????? just asking.
Journalism have become so sloppy these days it is better you follow the whatsapp clips and figure out for yourself because online news are even worst.
I have always been preaching the ‘Root of the problems’. Why so many accidents? 95% of the accidents are caused by either drunkness or having a cell phone in hand while driving. What is the authority doing about this? Some drivers make as though they cannot read,no entry sign, men at work etc, all these are useless for them. There are laws but no implementation.
