The Millennium Heights Medical Complex (MHMC) has announced several service reductions to ensure patient safety as Saint Lucia prepares for Hurricane Beryl.
The MHMC comprises Owen King EU Hospital (OKEUH), the National Mental Wellness Centre, the Turning Point Drug & Alcohol Rehabilitation Centre, and the Secondary Care Hospital .
Chief Executive Officer Dr. Dexter James disclosed the suspension of all elective surgeries, outpatient clinics, and physiotherapy appointments for Monday, July 1, 2024, until further notice.
James also advised that the OKEU Hospital has cleared several stable patients for discharge.
In addition, he said Accident and Emergency Department services would be limited to urgent and life-threatening medical conditions.
