As Saint Lucians braced for the potential impact of the ‘extremely dangerous’ Hurricane Beryl, another peril in the form of armed men stalked the streets of Castries.
According to preliminary reports, on Sunday, one man sustained fatal gunshot injuries at Bagatelle, Castries during a drive-by.
His death occurred at about 3:30 pm.
Police have identified the deceased as Kevin Dupree, also known as ‘Bim Bim’.
Officers are investigating a report that a woman was also shot.
In addition, during what investigators believe may have been a retaliatory incident, two men sustained gunshot injuries at Entrepot, Castries.
Both were rushed to the OKEU Hospital where their medical condition was unclear.
Saint Lucia has so far confirmed 42 homicides in 2024.

ST LUCIANS AT WAR
WITH GOD
St Lucian yute dem need fi stop the killings arrest all bottom feeders
Lawlessness, obeah and voodoo, envy, jealousy, greed, ill will etc. etc. etc. has taken over the land. Both young and old are into witchcraft doing the most to hurt others – they will ultimate destroy themselves – paar dee poor jab. IN ADDITION, all those who engage in EVIL will reap the consequences of their evil deeds and actions.
Today after a hurricane passed, did naturally what hurricanes do, some natural beasts who can afford the cost of a Car, go around doing the evil deeds of their evil master. Why should the poor along the Coasts loose their fishing Boats (their livelihood) some their homes (any Insurance for natural disasters?) yet some idiots with their toys find it fun to go around doing the devils’ wishes (kill, steal & destroy). May I ask, is this the same St. Lucia I grew up in? when my toys were Tops, Marbles & toy pistols; now you may laugh but I have the last laugh. I pray my LORD GOD to have compassion.
