A motorcyclist and two Bordelais Correctional Facility (BCF) officers sustained injuries as a result of a collision at Praslin involving the rider and a BCF vehicle which overturned.
Three inmates who were in the BCF vehicle were not injured.
According to information obtained by St. Lucia Times, the BCF vehicle was transporting the prisoners for a routine medical check.
Saint Lucia Fire Service (SLFS) emergency personnel from the Micoud Fire Station rushed to the scene at about 11:55 a.m. after learning of the collision.
SLFS spokeswoman Stacy Joseph said the responders found the motorcyclist had sustained multiple injuries and was unconscious.
Joseph told St. Lucia Times the emergency responders transported him to a medical facility in an unstable condition.
The two BCF officers also received transportation to a medical facility and were in stable condition, while the three inmates declined medical attention, asserting that they were fine.
As a result, the inmates were handed over to the authorities at the BCF.

The motor cyclist died at hospital. Sad times here. Not a day without a vehicle collision, a wounding of someone or gun violence on this Island. Cant even say you can walk on the sidewalk cause its at your own risk. Lots of people been hit and run and we never hear about the case again,, Its like a dead end. I get to realize its maybe the drivers, or something with the roads that causing these accidents and deaths. We never use to see daily accidents like that in the 80s and 90s. Now we have much more vehicles and alot more young drivers, and all these recall vehicles ship to the Caribbean. If we take our time we must get to our destination. We seem to have alot of people with road rage on the roads and always want to rush.
So how the prisoners declined medical attention? Not to the hospital they were heading for a routine check up? All of a sudden they don’t want to see the doctor any more. And is the officers that in hospital? Well well.
Was this an attempt of what I seen in movies? Or do I watch too many movies?
Train the BCF officers to drive. Not too long ago one of them crashed a vehicle at Escap and another one again.PM Pierre will not be tired of buying vehicles for Bordelais.
Not sure who caused the accident, however, I have a serious issue with the reckless driver’s of, Bordelais. They need to practise road safety, because they’re not the only one using the road and I’m not surprised of the accidents they’re getting involved in,but at whos’, expense. ( We the tax payer’s).
Obey means ‘saved ‘,or far from 😈 harm !!
