Sandals Resorts Hails Olympic Gold Medallist Julien Alfred

Sandals Resorts, in celebration of the historic performance from Saint Lucian Julien Alfred, offered the Olympian a weeklong, luxury-included vacation at any Sandals of her choice.

This, after the sprint champion clocked 10.72s to win gold and the first ever medal for her country at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

“This is a historic and extraordinary victory. Winning gold in the women’s 100m not only marks an incredible personal achievement but also stands as a monumental moment for the Saint Lucian community. On behalf of our entire Sandals family, we excitedly celebrate with Julien on this win and we look forward to hosting her on a well-deserved vacation at Sandals,” shared Executive Chairman for Sandals Resorts International, Adam Stewart.

Alfred, in addition to winning at this year’s Olympics, also holds the World Indoor title after securing the gold medal in the 60m at the 2024 World Athletics Indoor Championships in Glasgow, Scotland.

Her recent victory in Paris puts her eighth on the all-time list of fastest women’s 100m runners.

Managing Director for Sandals Resorts in the Eastern Caribbean, Winston Anderson also sent heartfelt congratulations to Alfred and shared in his team’s excitement for the golden girl’s triumph, “we are in awe of her achievements and we are thrilled to see her continue to create record-making moments in the future. She has shown all of Saint Lucia and the world what it means to exemplify the true spirit of a champion, and her victory will be remembered for generations to come.”

  1. Congratulations Julien. You are a blessing to St Lucia. We love you. I wish you more success in your remaining events.

  2. I’m not surprised, typical of ‘Sandals Resort’ to congratulate our hero long before the Ministry of Tourism get into the act; is there a Ministry of Sports, Ministry of youth Development, I dunno, just asking. Just this minute some Grenadian brother just won a 400 race; here comes the small Islanders; Lucian male youth still locked in the vice to ‘steal kill & destroy’ and I don’t understand.

  3. Sandals alone not surprised… I tell you boy. @ they may sponsor her if you anything about good business sense this would be good for brand image anything that helps promote the brand image equates to a robust profit margin. The foreign press is now stating Shelly Ann Frasier Price was denied entry to the event she was not injured as first stated that’s why I am keeping my fingers cross fro the finals but nevertheless a win is a win congratulations again Ms Alfred.

  4. After counting one, two, three or four St Lucia 🇱🇨 flag raised up, the victory was annonce, for miss Julien 🥇,I also saw the king’s successor and her parents embracing her, for making history and world record,So proud !!!!!!

  5. @sandals it was be a nice gester to also provide her coach and his wife with a vacation at a sandals of their choosing. Her coaches commitment, encouragement and dedication to her career/success cannot and should not be unnoticed as St. Lucia does not have the dedicated training facilities/conducive establishment to make this happen.

    Amen

  6. Many years ago, her mom was a supervisor at Sandals, telling everyone about her fast little girl. Always proudly boasted that her daughter was the fastest child in St. Lucia. “MY GIRL FASSSSSST!”.

Now we see that for sure!

  7. I wonder if sandals is aware that her mom worked at the sandals grand st. Lucia for many years. While searching for help to send her daughter to school overseas too chase her dreams. But big up you on the pass.

  8. That 24 million dollars Chas has given to Sandals, had this money gone to sports things would be better for the youth. What do you think Spider?

  9. I’m soooo proud of you Julian for taking home the GOLD!!!

Make you inspire other young St. Luciana to achieve greatness! You did it and so can they.
