On Sunday, August 4th, 2024, the US-based Robinson Smiles and Hopes Foundation donated $500 US to Rise Saint Lucia Inc.
Founder Julia Robinson said the donation reflected her organisation’s commitment to supporting Rise Saint Lucia’s impactful work.
Dr. Venus Cherry, Rise Saint Lucia chairman, expressed heartfelt gratitude for the donation, which he disclosed would fund a back-to-school bag drive.
According to him, the initiative aims to distribute at least 300 school bags to students across the island.
“This is huge. It has been a struggle to get corporations to commit and to commit significantly to actually make a difference. So when I have an organization which is not local, coming here with us in mind, it goes a long way,” Cherry stated.
Robinson Smiles and Hopes Foundation has also been donating medical and educational supplies to Saint Lucia for almost three years.
Rise Saint Lucia has been around since 2007.
The non-profit, non-governmental organization prides itself on its contribution to the healthy development of the people of Saint Lucia, especially the youth.
