‘Safe Travels Julien’ – Saint Lucia Awaits Sprint Queen’s Arrival

The Saint Lucia Tourism Authority (SLTA) announced on social media Tuesday morning that double Olympic medallist Julien Alfred had boarded her flight to Saint Lucia and was ‘eagerly awaiting’ her departure home to celebrate her achievements with her home country.

A photo of a smiling Alfred seated in the aircraft accompanied the SLTA post.

The SLTA expects the Olympic champion to arrive at 2:00 pm at the Hewanorra International Airport, where a water cannon salute will officially greet her, followed by a red carpet welcome by local officials.

A ceremony and a ‘grand motorcade’ will follow.

‘Safe travels, Julien!’ The SLTA social media post stated.

  1. Dear Ms. Alfred,

Once again my sincerest prayers and congratulations to you on your accomplishment. I know that you worked extremely hard with your training as well as perseverance, dedication and commitment – you may want to take a little snooze while onboard (lol) – from what I hear your St. Lucian itinerary will be busy. God bless you — rest assured I wish nothing but the best for you.

  2. I don’t mean to lack humility but this better be an old photo of her on a plane!!! I hope this is business class because it certainly isn’t first class ticket. All the unimportant officials and their men get luxury class tickets, you all better bring the queen down in grand style!!!

  3. @Hmmm: Looks like a brief pose for photos in Seat 1A of Business/First Class on American Airlines, if she boarded in Miami. Her officially designated seat is 2B.

  4. I am so proud of you Julien. Your hard work and determination paid off you put a smile on our beautiful Island may God bless you and protect you through all your hard work and commitment. Enjoy your glory you earned it
