Tragedy In Belle Vue: Man Dies In Wall Collapse

Belle Vue, Vieux Fort, was the scene of tragedy on Friday morning as a 25-year-old man identified as Kimroy Jeffrey lost  his life when a retaining wall collapsed on him.

The Saint Lucia Fire and Emergency Services (SLFS) received a distress call around 9 a.m., rushing to the scene in a desperate effort to save the victim.

Despite being transported to St. Jude Hospital for urgent medical attention, the young man was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. Reports indicate he was a disc jockey preparing to embark on a new chapter of his life with a job aboard a cruise ship.

He also worked in construction.

A video circulating on social media captures the grim aftermath. In the footage, staff from Lazarus Funeral Parlour are seen loading a gurney into a hearse. The anguished cries and screams of those present highlighted the devastating impact of the incident on the victim’s loved ones and the community.

  1. On waking up in the morning, make it a habit to say a prayer thanking the Almighty, (1) you are alive after all these years, seeing & reading of all the sad lives around you, (2) to keep protecting you while you go through the days ahead, asking the LORD, by His loving kindness toward you Devine help, for none of us know of the day we will be called to account for our deeds, be it good or otherwise.

  3. St. Lucians are not a set of people who observe Health and Safety. Too many jobs people do what and however they want. Look at NAMALCO, Health and Safety is very low. Nationwide Construction has no sign of Health and Safety. Check them on the Chaussee, a man was injured and he gets no compensation. Check for yourself.

  4. Condoléances to the family and loved ones at such an unbearable moments of unexpectation and inexplicable as for a son brother father nephew cousin husband friend….
