SDA Youth Plan Fundraiser For Chronic Kidney Disease Patient

The youth of the Bocage Seventh-day Adventist Church are organising a walk for a worthy cause. This event, scheduled for December 15, will not only promote fitness but also serve as a fundraiser for 29-year-old Rica Pierre.

Rica has been diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease, and her condition has become critical, requiring her to seek further medical treatment abroad. However, the overwhelming financial burden of these treatments has left her in urgent need of assistance.

According to a statement from the church’s youth department, the group aims to garner support not only from the church community but also from the wider society.

“Apart from raising awareness and funds to assist Rica with her expenses, the Youth Department of the Bocage SDA Church wanted to engage the community, our society, and the nation at large in an activity that families can enjoy together in a meaningful and holistic way.

We hope people will come out to spend time with friends and family while contributing to Rica’s medical expenses. This is an opportunity to have fun while making a positive impact on the life of a young woman fighting for her life.”

When asked why they chose this particular initiative, a representative of the group explained:

“Walking not only promotes a healthy lifestyle but can also be a powerful way to support meaningful causes. By participating, people not only prioritise their own health but also contribute to a cause that could make a life-changing difference for someone in need.”

The walk will begin at 5:30 a.m. at the Bocage SDA Church, passing through Girard and Guesneau, before returning to Bocage for the conclusion. The event is open to all age groups, with a participation fee of $10 for adults and $5 for children. Following the walk, a fundraising breakfast will be hosted at the church. All proceeds will go toward supporting Rica during this challenging time.

Supporters are encouraged to wear a touch of pink in solidarity with the cause. Those unable to attend but willing to contribute can do so using the following details:

Account Name: Rica Pierre
Bank: Bank of Saint Lucia (BOSL)
Branch: Bridge Street
Account Type: Savings

  1. Why is it that the church which continues to bleed it’s members, emptying their pockets by tithe not take some of the monies in their deep coffers and help this young lady? The church is rich and filthy rich at that, yet they ( the church ) will not deep it’s hands In its pockets to help it’s members. Make no mistake about it. The leading churches in Saint Lucia are rich beyond comprehension. The church globally is even more endowed not because of the sky god raining down wealth on them, but because it’s members are hoodwinked to give monies to maintain the running of the church. If the sky god is so rich, why is it the members are the ones dishing out hard earned money to run their organisation? Religion is one of the most lucrative businesses on the planet. Only fools get caught in it’s blabbering nonsense. I wish the young lady as the best in her quest for health…yet the church can do much to help her achieve that. Obviously their prayers ain’t working.

  2. @ C-WIZ If you can’t say anything good, just keep quiet. You have a selfish attitude. I pray that God don’t visit you or your loved ones with some calamity for your attitude. If you refuse to assist, that is your right but don’t try to deter others from doing so. God help you!!

  3. @ goodness gracious

You indignant pillock. What in my statement is untrue? Please do tell. What in my statement is untrue. Neither have I tried to deter anyone from assisting the young lady. You religious zealots are deplorably unchristian you don’t even see it. Listen to your statement yet you want to castigate me for speaking truth that the church is rich … they can easily fund this young lady’s medical/surgical bill but would leave it to the members, most who struggle daily with the high cost of living… having to support their families, those with limited means etc etc ….YOU PRAY THAT GOD DON’T VISIT ME OR MY LOVED ONES WITH SOME CALAMITY?….🤣🤣…That tells me all I need to know about you. Vindictive, subdued hate masking as Christian love….as the saying goes., there is no greater hate than Christian love….let that sink in….I can bet you don’t even understand what that means…. religious zealot..

  4. C-Wiz, as a Christian, I totally agree with your point of view about the financial operations of these churches. Jesus said to give to the poor. If everyone gave some of the money they put in church to the poor people in their communities or to needy school children, we would have significantly less social problems. If I visit a church frequently, of course I would make a donation towards paying the bills and upkeep of the building, but I will not give them one tenth of my salary. No. no. Not happening. Then the pastor driving around with an expensive BMW. Jesus said to give to the poor.
However, with that said, you need to respect other people’s beliefs. If you do not believe in the God Jehovah then it’s your personal choice. There are many who shared your sentiments who have since become Christians. Respect forms the foundation for all meaningful human interactions. Have a blessed day.

  5. @goodnessgracious
“Give me also this ability so that everyone on whom I lay my hands may receive the Holy Sprit in accordiance to repent ” by receiving forgiveness…
They have no part or share in the ministry of God, because their heart is not right before God, the same God that save, was close to the grave ready to burried alive and to have the burrial of a donkey..
Repent of your blasphème and mockery, pray to the LORD,perhaps he will forgive you for having such a thought in bitterness 😈, slave of the powerful 🐍and captive to sin…..

  6. Let me boast in the LORD !!!!
This is a true testimony a héroïne of the faith :
When I thought I was in love,my lover told me I am giving God all my crendencials and what God is giving me :
Was on the way to meet my God,then I told him that I choose rather than him and my labor in the LORD is will be not in vain
This is exactly the ending :
I can confess in the name of my God and Jesus Christ,no doubt, without a job,not working,my pension will be sure and secured, what God has done for me and my family, and what I am doing for God,I only want to share in GOD’S ministry but will not tell of my secrets…

  7. JEOVAH’ means God in hebrews, God in english,Dieu en français
People of God, there are many churches in St Lucia, but not all are chosen by God..
A church is a place of worship where the family of God you belongs to in the kingdom of God where judgment ⚖️ will take place or began..
It is a foundation since the begining of création..
Please be careful when you go to a house where the name of the LORD is mention or said to bring in the tithe and offrening, look carefully and choose wisely a true house of worship of the living God..
Ask God for guidance and direction
The way, the truth and the life everlasting..
God takes note of a cheerful giver (without hindrance)
    Tithe, offrening and prosperity
Your heart is a wellspring of life, let us do good to all wether in giving or praying, especially to people of beleivers..
    Let us not be weary
At the proper time we will reap a harvest ‘if we dont give up ‘

    Please be careful
A true beleiver or a true christian
Every good tree comes out or bring good fruits..
Our model ways, our behaivor, our talks, the way of dressings..

May your healing is in the name of the LORD Almighty, the Maker of heaven and earth and in the precious blood of the lamb which was shed for many to forgives our sins and heals all our sicknesses, dieases, wounds…

  8. @ Seinfeld

To be honest, I totally respect people and their beliefs. Everyone has the right to believe whatsoever they so choose to believe. Yet, it is still anyone’s right to critique or comment on any subject matter. Politics, religion, law, crime…no subject should be untouchable when it comes to expressing oneself….so while it it’s people’s right to believe in anything , it is equally my right and anybody else’s right to critique on any subject matter…. because how are we to progress if beliefs, opinions, ideas, cannot be challenged ? How do we discover new things if we don’t interrogate other ideas?…I welcome anyone challenging my opinions…. because In doing so , someone might just point out my error in thinking…so I welcome your point of view but I also assure you that I do respect people’s belief.

  9. c-wiz duz upset me gasa…its time they take that troll off…i have said to that troll if u have nothing good to say say nothing at all gasa…..do you even know of the girl’s hospital bill to pay? where she will be staying and all that expensive stuff??? instead of criticizing the church yes they should be able to help but how much???? masiay stop dat….if we self come to help it would be better….when people are quick to criticize have they donated ANYTHING to see the world turn??? and i am not surprised if this c-wiz troll comes here to take me on…one thing i DOE HAVE TIME……once is religion troll deh……but one thing i agree have all bright ideas and long paragraphs but the c-wizard of oz have not impressed me to see st lucia move forward…..we still paying for expensive items at Massy…chooopssss..

While finance seems to a major issue,
God has put everything before us wether life or death, the choice is ours..
    Pray for the Sick
To anointe her in the name of the LORD ❗
And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well depend on GOD’S will..
The LORD will raised her up,if she has sinned, she is forgiven..
Therefore, confess your sins and pray for each other so you may be healed..
