‘Just 4 Fun’ Ready to Play Mas

One of the premiere party Carnival bands in Saint Lucia has launched and is already breaking the Internet, with fans and revellers clamouring to social media platforms to view its 2025 portrayal.

Just 4 Fun Carnival band is celebrating 25 years of mas in Saint Lucia this year and on Saturday, January 26, hosted its grand band launch.

The prestigious invitation-only event was held at the Royalton Resort. Carnival and government officials, entertainers, sponsors and other stakeholders mixed and mingled in a celebratory cocktail setting, ahead of the unveiling.

The first costume was introduced to the beat of drums and masqueraders along with Ezra D’ Fun Machine doing Hello Carnival. From there, costume after costume was welcomed with gleeful applause and shouts of approval from those in attendance.

The various portrayals were intertwined with performances by Shemmy J, Imran Nerdy and the reigning Soca Monarch and Road March King Ricky T.

Just 4 Fun’s 25th-anniversary theme is MAS featuring seven sections – Rapture, Majesty, Euphoria, Mêlée Pas Mêlée, Power, Freedom and Unity.

Following the high-energy production and display of the costumes, St Lucia Times asked band director Rostan Taylor what revellers could expect this year.

“The best,” he replied with a look of satisfaction. “Well, we are celebrating 25 years, which is a great milestone, and we have really put a lot of thought into the costumes this year. We had about 11 designers submit and we selected what we thought were the best seven and I think you saw the impact tonight with the product—everybody loves it.”

Taylor also shared his thoughts on Lucian Carnival and Just 4 Fun’s role in the festivities.

“It [Carnival] has developed and we are excited to be a part of it, despite how challenging it is to better ourselves year after year. You know, our focus is always to please our revellers while also making a contribution to the overall Saint Lucian carnival product, and that has worked for us,” he explained.

While images of the various costumes are already on the various Just 4 Fun social media platforms, they will go on sale later this week.

Just 4 Fun Carnival Band was launched in 2000 as an innovative and energetic entity. Over the years, it has hosted numerous events as part of its Carnival offerings, including the Jab Jab Fete, Cooler Fete, Indulgence Breakfast Fete, and more.

The band’s mandate is to provide the ultimate carnival indulgence, delivering the greatest all-inclusive reveller experience with the greatest service.

Just 4 Fun has become the largest carnival band on the road for Lucian Carnival.
