SLASPA Moving Forward with New Air Traffic Control Tower for Hewanorra

The transformation of Hewanorra International Airport is gaining momentum as the Saint Lucia Air and Sea Ports Authority (SLASPA) takes a major step toward constructing a modern Air Traffic Control Tower.

SLASPA has officially invited proposals for constructing the tower, which will replace the existing 50-year-old structure at the airport in Vieux Fort with a state-of-the-art facility.

Described by SLASPA as a centrepiece of this phase of the Hewanorra International Airport Redevelopment Project, the 100-foot tower will feature advanced navigational technology to improve air traffic management and airfield surveillance.

“The new Air Traffic Control Tower will represent the future of aviation in Saint Lucia,” said SLASPA General Manager and CEO, Daren Cenac.

“By integrating modern technologies and innovative designs, we are not only investing in safer and more efficient air navigation services but also in the broader goal of positioning Hewanorra International Airport as a premier gateway to our island.”
The project supports SLASPA’s commitment to developing world-class infrastructure while strengthening Saint Lucia’s appeal as a leading travel destination.

Interested contractors can access the detailed request for proposals (RFP) by contacting SLASPA’s Manager of Financial Operations between January 16 and January 30. Proposals must be submitted by March 6 at 9 a.m.

SLASPA has pledged an inclusive and transparent bidding process, stating that any inquiries regarding the RFP will be addressed through official addenda to ensure fairness and equal access to information.
