The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force (RSLPF) is alerting the public to a rise in phone scams, where unknown callers make urgent demands, often using threats, deception, or intimidation.
Police say scammers frequently claim to be in distress—such as experiencing a medical emergency—while requesting mobile credit or other forms of assistance.
In some cases, they impersonate a relative in trouble, aiming to provoke an emotional response from their target.
The RSLPF is urging citizens to stay cautious and avoid complying with any requests without first verifying the caller’s claims.
Anyone who believes they have been targeted should report the incident immediately to the nearest police station, call the emergency line at 999, or submit an anonymous tip via the crime hotline at 555.
