The Ministry of Health, Wellness and Elderly Affairs has announced a “slight delay” in the temporary closure of the Canaries Wellness Centre. As a result, residents can continue accessing primary healthcare services at the facility until further notice.
The wellness centre was originally scheduled to close on Monday, February 10, for six months of renovations. Last Friday, the ministry stated that the facility would undergo critical rehabilitative work under the OECS Regional Health Project, funded by the World Bank.
However, a follow-up press release on Monday confirmed that the start of the renovations had been postponed.
The ministry apologised for the delay and expressed appreciation for the public’s patience and understanding as efforts continue to improve healthcare services in the community.
It also assured that regular updates would be provided as more information becomes available regarding the SMART rehabilitation of the Canaries Wellness Centre.
