Saint Lucia’s 46th Independence Celebrations End on High Note

Saint Lucia’s 46th Independence celebrations came to a thrilling conclusion on Saturday evening with the electrifying All Stars Independence Showcase at the SAB in Vigie, Castries.

The grand finale capped off a series of exciting activities, drawing large crowds and showcasing the island’s rich cultural heritage and artistic talent.

Some of Saint Lucia’s biggest musical stars lit up the stage, with high-energy performances from Sly the Artiste, Arthur Allain, Ezra D’funmachine, Shemmy J, and more. Their high-energy sets, backed by the incredible Derek Yarde Project, transformed the venue into a vibrant sea of song and dance, making for an unforgettable night.

Earlier in the day, the Independence Military Parade at the Daren Sammy Cricket Ground set the tone for the celebrations. Military groups from across the island put on an impressive spectacle, marching in precision and showcasing their unique styles.

Among the distinguished guests in attendance were Prime Minister Philip J. Pierre and Governor General Sir Cyril Charles, who watched as Saint Lucia’s finest demonstrated discipline, tradition, and national pride.

The excitement carried over to downtown Castries, where the Independence Celebratory Rally brought even more energy to the capital.

A mix of captivating performances from local singers and cultural dancers kept the crowd engaged, while the 2024 Carnival Queen and Saint Lucia’s Miss OECS contestant impressed with their poise, talent, and speeches.

Prime Minister Pierre also took centre stage, delivering a passionate address outlining his vision for Saint Lucia’s continued progress and prosperity.

At every turn, the spirit of independence was alive and thriving. The overwhelming turnout at each event proved that Saint Lucians take immense pride in their heritage, coming together to mark another year of independence.
