Local Manufacturer Heineken Saint Lucia Ltd Celebrates Golden Milestone

Heineken Saint Lucia Ltd, a pillar of the local manufacturing industry, proudly marks its 50th anniversary of operations in Saint Lucia. This golden milestone, celebrated under the theme, A legacy brewed, A future Inspired, reflects the company’s unwavering commitment to innovation, quality excellence and empowering communities over the past five decades.

Incorporated under the Commercial Code of Saint Lucia on March 11, 1974, as Company No. 21 of 1974, the company has steadily transformed and revolutionised its socioeconomic contribution throughout the years.

Originally established as Windward & Leeward Brewery Ltd (WLBL), the company commenced production in November of 1975 and has evolved into a world-class beverage manufacturer, serving Saint Lucia and CARICOM territories with premium-quality products.

In 2016, through a strategic merger with Du Boulay’s Bottling Company Ltd. (DBC), a dominant force in the soft drink industry since 1972, the company would further establish itself as the largest total beverage manufacturer in Saint Lucia and the Eastern Caribbean.

In 2021, the company underwent further transformation, emerging officially as Heineken Saint Lucia Ltd.

Over the years, the company’s growth has been driven by a commitment to quality, innovation, and sustainability.

Today, Heineken Saint Lucia Ltd stands as a key contributor to the national economy, the largest exporter on island, generating employment opportunities and fostering industry growth.

“To reach 50 years is a tremendous achievement, and we owe this success to our employees, partners, loyal consumers, the government and the people of Saint Lucia,” said Managing Director Holly Bostock. “We have grown alongside Saint Lucia, and as we reflect and celebrate this milestone, we reaffirm our commitment to this beloved island.”

To commemorate this historic occasion, Heineken Saint Lucia Ltd has planned a series of celebratory events, including community engagement initiatives under the theme ‘50 Acts of Kindness’, employee appreciation programmes, and special promotions for consumers throughout the year.

Beyond production and brewing innovation, Heineken Saint Lucia Ltd has championed sustainability and social responsibility efforts, from environmental conservation projects to initiatives that empower local businesses and entrepreneurs. Looking ahead, the company remains committed to innovation and growth while maintaining its proud legacy in Saint Lucia.
