Soufriere Jazz Delivers More Than Music

The Soufriere Events Management Organisation (SEMO), a dedicated team of local creatives, continues to play a vital role in revitalising Soufriere’s entertainment scene. Born out of the Soufriere Regional Development Foundation (SRDF), the main financing agency for Soufriere Jazz, SEMO has, over the past three years, successfully reintroduced two major cultural events—Soufriere Jazz and Soufriere Carnival—to Saint Lucia’s events calendar.

A Community Catalyst

Soufriere Jazz has evolved beyond a musical event into a cornerstone of community life—becoming a catalyst for positive change and development, socially and economically.

“Soufriere Jazz fosters a sense of unity and inclusivity, drawing people from all walks of life,” SEMO said in a statement as it welcomed patrons to Soufriere to immerse themselves in and party, dine and stay with the community during Soufriere Jazz.

“This way, we ensure that the people of Soufriere are the main benefactors of the event. The small business sector, including small restaurants and bars, Airbnbs, taxi and tour operators, and vendors at the local market are all directly impacted by Soufriere Jazz.”

Over 20 vendors are expected to cater to general admission guests, and all caterers for the event are sourced locally.

“This is just one example of how many people benefit from our event. Undoubtedly, it has a profound impact on the cultural and economic landscape of our beloved community,” SEMO said.

A Unique Cultural Experience

Dubbed ‘The Ultimate Experience’, Soufriere Jazz stands out on the Saint Lucia Jazz calendar for its atmosphere, scale, and community-driven approach.

“It is a major event in a quaint town that offers a euphoric feeling that is unmatched. It is produced by people who reside in the community and have a vested interest in community development. It is inclusive and welcoming for all stakeholders. Soufriere is just a vibe,” SEMO added.

The Line-Up

This year’s line-up reflects a meticulous selection process that aimed to connect generations through music. The event will feature nine acts across four genres, including performances by Sly, Arthur Allain, MTX Band, Rebirth 7, DYP, Farmer Nappy, and Kerwin Du Bois.

Dancehall sensation Busy Signal headlines the show, bringing a high-energy catalogue of hits that promises to light up the night.

Powered by Partnerships

SEMO credits its success to strong corporate partnerships. Chief among them is Jade Mountain and Anse Chastanet Resorts, presenting sponsors for Soufriere Jazz.

“Our sponsors have guided us, supported us, and enabled us to create a community event that truly impacts the people of Soufriere,” the organisation said.

An invitation has been extended to all to join Soufriere on Sunday, May 4 at 2 p.m. for the ultimate jazz experience.

General admission is EC$150, while VIP tickets are EC$400. Tickets are available at The Cell outlets, 4circlestickets.com, and the SRDF office in Soufriere.

“We look forward to supporting all community jazz events. After all, music is life!” SEMO declared.
