Government calls for nominations for 2025 National Awards

The Office of the Prime Minister has announced that the National Awards Committee is now accepting nominations for Saint Lucia’s highest national honours. These awards celebrate individuals, both locally and abroad, who have made “exceptional contributions to nation-building.”

Citizens are encouraged to put forward “unsung heroes within their communities and in the diaspora” who have shown “excellence, benevolence, and distinguished or meritorious service deserving of national recognition”.

Nomination forms can be accessed online at governorgeneral.gov.lc/awards or collected from libraries, post offices and sub-post offices, constituency councils and at the Office of the Prime Minister at Greaham Louisy Administrative Building, The Waterfront, Castries

Completed forms must be submitted by December 20, 2025, either via email to emam.louis@govt.lc or in a sealed envelope addressed to:

The Secretary
National Awards Committee
C/O Office of the Prime Minister
Greaham Louisy Administrative Building
Waterfront, Castries

Further details about the awards, their categories, and descriptions are available on the reverse side of the nomination form. Winning nominations will be publicly announced at the 2026 Independence Rally, followed by the official presentation of awards by the Governor General during the Investiture Ceremony.

The government sees it as a chance to “honour the individuals who have given selflessly to Saint Lucia’s progress” and who embody “the values of service, excellence, and national pride”.
