The Saint Lucia Aquatics Federation announced on October 31, that Tristan Dorville has been selected as one of the recipients of the Olympic Solidarity Scholarship. One of the nation’s most exciting swimming prospects ever at the age of 18, Dorville is currently a student-athlete at Virginia Tech.
“Tristan’s selection is a testament to his hard work, talent, discipline, dedication, and unwavering dedication to excellence in the sport of swimming,” said a release from the local federation.

The prestigious award via the Saint Lucia Olympic Committee will provide support to promising athletes, as they prepare and train towards qualification and competition at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
The local swimming fraternity will be hopeful that Dorville and former Bolles School teammate Antoine Destang can be the first male swimmers from Saint Lucia to attain natural qualification standards for the Olympics. Aside from Danielle Beaubrun in 2012, every Saint Lucian swimmer at the Olympics has competed through a universality place, or wildcard.
Already, Dorville won two medals for Saint Lucia earlier this year at the CARIFTA Aquatics Championships in Trinidad and Tobago, bronze in the men’s 50m freestyle and 50m butterfly. He also medalled in the freestyle last year, the first man from the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States to do so in the 15-17 age group.

In 2022, at the 35th CARIFTA Aquatics Championships, Dorville took gold in the 13-14 50m freestyle and silver in the 200m medley.
Dorville’s time of 23.48 seconds in the 50 free is not only a national record, but the best ever for a male swimmer from the Eastern Caribbean. He also competed in the World Aquatics Junior Swimming Championships 2025, World Aquatics Championships — Doha 2024, World Aquatics Junior Championships 2023, and Commonwealth Games 2023.

Congratulations 👏🥳🥳 Male achieving role models are becoming a rarity. Go forth and represent under God’s grace in every aspect of your life.
