Saint Lucia has been named the World’s Leading Honeymoon Destination for the eighth consecutive year and 17th time overall. The award was announced on December 6 at the World Travel Awards Grand Final Gala Ceremony in Bahrain and confirmed in a tourism authority release issued on December 8.
Established in 1993, the World Travel Awards are regarded as one of the global tourism industry’s highest honours, recognising excellence across destinations, hotels, airlines and other travel sectors.
Speaking on the achievement, Saint Lucia Tourism Authority CEO Louis E. A. Lewis said the island’s continued success can be attributed to the work of the people who support the sector.
“We are immensely proud to be named the World’s Leading Honeymoon Destination for eight consecutive years,” Lewis said. “This recognition reflects the dedication of our tourism partners and the warm hospitality of our people.”
