Residents of Canaries will have to access primary healthcare services in Anse La Raye for the next two weeks as the Canaries Wellness Centre closes for rehabilitation works beginning Monday.
The Ministry of Health, Wellness and Nutrition said the facility will be closed from June 1 to June 12 to facilitate upgrades under the OECS Regional Health Project, which is funded by the World Bank. Normal operations are expected to resume on June 15.
During the closure, all primary healthcare services normally provided at the Canaries Wellness Centre will be transferred to the Anse La Raye Wellness Centre.
The ministry said home visits and outreach services in Canaries will continue throughout the period to ensure patients requiring care remain supported.
To assist residents, free transportation will be provided from the Canaries bus stop near the Canaries Infant School. The service will operate on Mondays and Fridays at 7:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., and on Tuesdays at 7:30 a.m.
The ministry also released a schedule for clinics at the Anse La Raye Wellness Centre. Medical, diabetes and hypertension clinics will be held on Mondays, child health clinics on Tuesdays, and medical clinics on Fridays.
