The Intercommercial House Calypso Competition took place at the Cultural Centre on Thursday night, highlighting creative lyrics and drawing strong support from both businesses and the public.
Representatives from a wide cross-section of organisations performed, each sharing their own style and message. The venue was filled with colleagues and supporters, creating a lively and encouraging atmosphere.
Shaqelle Charlery, known as Kaiso Cop and representing the Bordelaise Correctional Facility, won first place. His performance of “Bordelaise Sad Stories” impressed the judges and connected with the audience.
Erny Johnny, or Erny J, from the Saint Lucia Workers Credit Union, took second place. His song “One Last Time” was praised for its strong lyrics and delivery, making him one of the night’s standout performers.

Eka Fergus, performing as Eka for the Saint Lucia Social Development Fund, finished third. Her song “Matters of the Heart” showed strong vocals and emotion.

Each performer brought creativity to the stage with costumes, acting and visual effects. Their storytelling kept the audience engaged with the various themes.
Last year, Erny J won the competition and Eka came in second, both representing the same companies. Chocolate, from the Inland Revenue Department, finished third.
