Seven students honoured for leadership, service and character

Seven secondary school students from across Saint Lucia have been recognised by CIBC Caribbean for demonstrating outstanding leadership, service, resilience and personal growth through the bank’s Culture of Care Student Recognition Programme.

The initiative recognises graduating students whose contributions extend beyond academic achievement and reflect a commitment to positively impacting their schools and communities.

One student from each of seven participating secondary schools was selected based on criteria including academic performance, leadership, community involvement, character and personal resilience.

The 2026 award recipients are:

  • Kami Analise St Rose – St Joseph’s Convent Secondary School
  • Shyann Mayers – Ciceron Secondary School
  • Sanjani Cetoline – Corinth Secondary School
  • Saachi Wadhwani – Leon Hess Comprehensive Secondary School
  • Darnel Isidore – Castries Comprehensive Secondary School
  • Jervonté Desir – Vieux Fort Comprehensive Secondary School
  • Colleen Busette – Sir Ira Simmons Secondary School

CIBC Caribbean said the students represent a diverse group of young Saint Lucians who have shown initiative and a commitment to service. The recipients include student leaders, prefects, peer helpers, volunteers, athletes, environmental advocates and STEM enthusiasts, with aspirations spanning fields such as medicine, engineering and technology.

Each awardee received a commemorative trophy, a CIBC Caribbean Student Account with a cash-value deposit and other tokens of recognition. The bank also contributed $1 000 towards the graduation ceremonies of each participating school.

CIBC Caribbean Country Manager Nigel Ollivierre said the programme reflects the institution’s commitment to supporting young people who demonstrate values that extend beyond the classroom.

“At CIBC Caribbean, we believe that the future of our communities depends not only on academic excellence, but on the values young people choose to live by,” Ollivierre said.

“Through the Culture of Care Student Recognition Programme, we are proud to celebrate students who lead with integrity, serve others with compassion and demonstrate the resilience and character that inspire those around them.”

In addition to the student recognition programme, CIBC Caribbean provided financial support to several schools across Saint Lucia to assist with graduation celebrations, as part of its focus on education, youth development and community investment.
