Technical and clerical staff at Windward Island Gases Limited will receive a general wage increase after management and the National Workers Union (NWU) concluded negotiations.
The agreement states that workers “will now benefit from a general wage increase”, with a 9% raise spread evenly over three years.
The new package also brings better benefits, such as “an improved compensatory framework for acting allowance, and an increase in breakfast and on-call allowances”.
Starting July 1, 2025, the collective agreement will provide all employees with back pay for about 12 months.
The company also promised the union “the guarantee of an improvement in its operational processes”, which should lead to “higher productivity and general worker, company and clientele satisfaction”.
The Department of Labour is expected to finalise the industrial agreement soon.
