Kimani Melius, who once captained the West Indies Under-19 team, has signed with the Powett Elite Group, a talent agency in the Caribbean. He joins other top regional cricketers as he works to move his career forward.
Melius made his List A debut for West Indies B during the 2018-19 Regional Super50 tournament, after being selected for the West Indies squad at the 2018 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. Now 25, he hopes his new management team will help him find consistency and success.
Melius scored his first first-class century in 2023, reaching 192 runs off 128 balls for the Windward Islands Volcanoes against the Trinidad & Tobago Red Force. This was the highest first-class score ever by a Saint Lucian cricketer.
After that standout performance, Melius suffered a concussion that kept him out for much of the season. Since then, he has played in the Caribbean Premier League and the Abu Dhabi T10. He also captained the national team to victory in the 2025 Windward Islands tournament and was the top scorer in the 2025 Saint Lucia Premier League, leading Gros Islet to the championship.

By joining Powett, Melius is now part of a group that includes West Indies all-rounder and Test captain Roston Chase, ODI captain Shai Hope, Rahkeem Cornwall, Kieran Powell, Amari Goodridge, Sri Lankan all-rounder Lakshitha Manasinghe and cricket coach Toby Radford.
