Saint Lucian batsman Ackeem Auguste has been ruled out of the Saint Lucia Kings squad due to undisclosed medical reasons, the franchise announced on Monday afternoon.
The 22-year-old top-order batsman was expected to play a key role for the Kings after being retained for the 2026 edition of the Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League (CPL).
Auguste scored 63 in a losing effort against the Barbados Royals before being ruled out of the following match.
“Ackeem’s health and well-being remain the team’s priority, and he will receive the necessary care and support during this period,” the Kings said in an official statement. “The Saint Lucia Kings wish Ackeem a full and speedy recovery and look forward to welcoming him back when he is medically cleared to return.”
The Kings will play their next fixture against a struggling Trinbago Knight Riders team at the Queen’s Park Oval on Wednesday, with both teams in desperate need of a victory.
It remains unclear whether Auguste will be able to return later in the tournament.
