Carnival Queens set for regional pageants

Saint Lucia’s Carnival Queens, Faith Edward and Nyaley Lewis, are set to represent the island at two regional pageants in 2027, according to Lucian Carnival.

Edward will compete at the Miss OECS Pageant on January 28, 2027, in Dominica. Held under the theme “Island Flames – United in Beauty and Purpose”, the competition will bring together young women from across the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) to celebrate beauty, talent, culture and leadership.

Lewis will represent Saint Lucia at the St Maarten Carnival Caribbean Queen Pageant on April 22, 2027. Under the theme “Crowning the Culture”, the pageant will showcase the cultural heritage and Carnival traditions of participating Caribbean territories.

Trevor King, chair of the National Carnival Queen Pageant Committee, expressed confidence in both queens as they prepare for the regional competitions.

“We are incredibly proud of Faith and Nyaley,” King said. “They embody the beauty, confidence, and cultural pride of Saint Lucia. We are confident they will carry our flag with grace and make the nation proud on the regional stage.”

Both are expected to serve as cultural ambassadors, promoting Saint Lucia’s Carnival heritage and vibrant culture to audiences across the region.

Lucian Carnival has called on the public, corporate partners and well-wishers to support Edward and Lewis as they prepare to represent the island in the competitions.
