A fourteen-year-old male pedestrian was among three individuals who sustained injuries in two separate road incidents.
The incidents occurred on Friday and Saturday.
The teenage pedestrian was struck by a bicycle at La Caye, Dennery, on Friday, resulting in injuries to him and the rider.
Saint Lucia Fire Service (SLFS) emergency personnel responded, treated the rider, and transported him to a medical facility.
The pedestrian was transported via private means before the arrival of the ambulance.
Fire service personnel also responded to a motor vehicular incident at Rodney Bay on Saturday.
On arrival, they found an unconscious male individual in the driver’s seat of a vehicle.
The emergency crew extricated the victim and transferred him to the ambulance.
An assessment revealed lacerations to the head.
The responders treated and transported him to a medical facility for further medical care.
The latest road incidents occurred days after Prime Minister Philip J. Pierre expressed concern over the alarming spike in road accidents and road fatalities in Saint Lucia.
On Thursday, Pierre declared that ‘the sheer madness on Saint Lucia roads’ needs to be controlled.
At the same time, he expressed condolences to the families of those who have lost their lives due to the ‘unfortunate incidents’, particularly the individual who lost his life at Praslin last week.
Twenty-eight-year-old Greg Laurent of Laborie succumbed after a collision involving two vehicles.
