Multi-sport athlete Rawson Harris is making a name for himself in football. He plays at his school in the US and recently joined an elite development programme with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), the European champions.
Last year, the former Valley Soccer Academy, Central Castries and Saint Lucia Under-17 men’s defender and midfielder participated in the PSG Pro Academy Summer Camp in Florida and was named Under-19 MVP.
That earned him the right to travel to the Évian-les-Bains region for the PSG Academy Pro Top 44, an elite training week held in France for the most promising players selected from worldwide PSG summer camps.
At the camp, Harris played as a winger. Coaches praised his technique, tactical skills and mental focus. “His pace and dribbling make him a dangerous winger who can create clear differences. He should vary his actions more by combining early, cutting inside, or attacking the outside channel,” his report said.
Harris, a graduate of St Mary’s College, was also commended for his “excellent” attitude, with coaches noting that he listened to advice and trained with strong motivation throughout the week. They described him as “a very complete player”.
Harris expressed gratitude for the opportunity to train with PSG Academy the past two summers. He credits his 2025 experience with helping him prepare for his freshman year as a member of the McPherson Bulldogs men’s football team, and this year was even better.
“My experience was great,” he told St Lucia Times. “We did technical and tactical training, video sessions, stretching and recovery, etc. I am grateful to participate in this year’s PSG Academy Pro Top 44 Experience. I hope this opens the door for more opportunities in the future.”
Besides football, Harris has represented the nation in table tennis.
