Scooter Rider Injured In Collision With Truck In Castries

Emergency personnel transported a scooter rider to the OKEU Hospital on Sunday after a collision with a truck on Calvary Road, Castries.

An eyewitness told St Lucia Times that the accident occurred at about 4:00 pm.

According to the eyewitness, the white truck was heading towards Castries.

And the rider on the scooter was heading in the opposite direction when the collision occurred.

The eyewitness disclosed that the scooter rider had, before the collision, passed with a pillion passenger whom he had dropped off.

The eyewitness said that after accident, the rider became ‘wedged’ under the truck.

“Bystanders had to help the EMTs to lift the truck off the guy. But it was very very serious,” the individual, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told St Lucia Times.

  2. Sundays are no helmet days for scooter riders…..cause police neither work after 4pm nor on Sundays.

  3. Scooters should be illegal in st.lucia. Why? because most of those riders appear to be mentally challenged. They ride recklessly and can not read or interpret road signs. Some of them even try to put on seat belts on the high way while riding. Could you believe that?

  4. Lol @ the seatbelt– you are right, these scooter riders even attach a flat bag to the seatbelt! Unbelievable

  5. There is no strict control on the roads in St Lucia guys are drinking all day long and they get behind the wheel how many drivers have gotten arrested for DUI on this island?

  6. No words from the truck driver we need closure. He was a human being too not an animal. A son. A father a friend. We need closure. Does anyone know the truck driver
