Saint Lucia National Sports Awards Nominations Announced

The Ministry of Youth Development & Sports is proud to announce the athletes nominated for the upcoming National Sports Awards which will be hosted at the Royalton Resort & Spa on Saturday,  18th February 2023. The event forms part of the National Independence Celebrations and marks the first major Sports Awards ceremony following a two-year Covid-19 hiatus.

The National Sports Awards will recognize the extraordinary achievements of Saint Lucia’s top athletes, with awards being presented in several categories, including Sportsman and Sportswoman of the Year, as well as Junior Sportsman and Junior Sportswoman of the Year. The names of the short-listed athletes for these awards are below.

JUNIOR SPORTSWOMAN

  • Zaida James- Cricket
  • Shatal Charles- Table Tennis
  • Naomi London- Athletics

JUNIOR SPORTSMAN

  • Ackeem Auguste- Cricket

  • Jeremiah Felix- Athletics

SPORTSMAN

  • Johnson Charles- Cricket
  • Jayhan Odlum Smith- Swimming
  • Delan Edwin- Athletics
  • Romanus Inglis- Golf
  • Vino Barclatt- Football

SPORTSWOMAN

  • Julien Alfred- Athletics
  • Mikaili Charlemagne- Swimming
  • Kerin Neptune- Volleyball
  • Malika Edward- Swimming

The National Sports Awards are an important celebration of the nation’s leading athletes, acknowledging their local, regional, and international achievements and recognizing the hard work and dedication they have devoted to their sporting discipline.

The event will be broadcast live via the National Television Network from 7:00 pm.
