Saint Lucia’s Ministry of Health continues its drive to make vaccines available to all eligible individuals while promoting vaccination as the most cost-effective component of healthcare services, saving more lives than any other primary healthcare intervention.
Assistant Principal Nursing Officer Bernadette Regis said vaccines are subject to robust international testing protocols.
She explained that the protocols involve thousands of volunteers to establish safe, quality-assured, and effective medicines.
According to the Assistant Principal Nursing Officer, administering vaccines and immunisation are critical aspects of Saint Lucia’s primary health care programme, constituting a basic right of all citizens to avail themselves of the life-saving opportunity.
